Thank you!
The Eagles famously started their comeback by proclaiming that “for the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14-year vacation”.
Only a few years after the Eagles had begun their “vacation”, three young and eager aspiring musicians in Helsinki, Finland, were restless to get their musical ideas into fruition. One had already gotten to actually recording for a major label and touring some, the other two got their “15 minutes of fame” in a nationally broadcasted TV-show. Having joined forces, each shared an ambitious vision of what they would like to create, in a hurry. But despite of trying hard to work it out, it just did not happen. As many things will not, if pushed – but young men are not made to understand that. And then, life happened.
Fast forward some 25 years. By chance, the three met again. By then, young no more, each had their own history in various musical projects, along with a bag full of life lessons learned. But what had once seemed like an opportunity missed in the sort of music they all still believed in, had bothered them over the years. They decided to see whether the time gone by would have brought along the patience and maturity needed to pin the vision down. So they picked up where they had once left it, but absent any hurry whatsoever, and – magic happened.
The new album “What Made Us” by BTW is out. It is music made the way it used to be made. Much devotion and care has been spent in making it sound organic and rich. However, at the core, there are the songs. They speak of life, of longing, and of love. They have been waiting to be heard.
BTW - Bergholm, Takki & Wainio – have had their vacation, and are back in business!
